I am 25 years old and living on my own in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. When I graduated from my Master’s degree in mid-2008 and began my work career, the long hours, commute, and desk job all contributed to the decline of my health and the increase of my weight. I hit my breaking point in Dec 2008, when I realized that my bad eating habits and lifestyle were spiraling out of control. Before I could change my mind, I moved to downtown, and made a conscious effort to exercise on a regular basis and adopt a healthy eating lifestyle. For 6 months, I was almost obsessed with trying to maintain a high protein, low-carb diet all the time, and while I did manage to lose 20 lbs, I began to fall apart during my exercise. I particularly felt the consequences of my food choices when I began to get more serious with my running and started training for my first half-marathon.
Since then, I’ve learnt a lot about what I can and can’t eat before particularly difficult running days and resistance training days. This blog is a place for me to share my successes (and failures as I continue to learn!) of my cooking and fitness endavours.
Enjoy!
Alison
Nice blog you have here. I’m a bit of a health and gym junkie myself so your posts are great for my interests. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
